My Favorite Movie

So the first movie I want to discuss is The Avengers. Overall I think this was a pretty great movie and if you had watched the other movies such as Captain America, Iron Man 1 & 2, Thor and Hulk then this movie really pulled them all together and brought great insight into some details that had been missing. It also pulls into this movie one character I personally enjoy watching and that is Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). Of course I think one of the best scenes of this entire movie is when the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) is being "held" captive at the being of the movie. Lets go ahead and admit it she rocked not only this movie but the Iron Man movies as well. For someone who is suppose to be a cold hearted person you get a very quick look at her "soft side".

So lets go to the Black Widows scene with Dr. Banner (Mark Ruffalo). Here we go from the Widows soft side back to her cold style. She uses her training to lure Dr. Banner to a secluded house for a "one on one" talk. In this scene we get a small glimpse into Dr. Banner and who he has become and what he is about since we left in the last Hulk movie. Here we learn a little bit about what he wants and why he decides to join the Avengers group.

So now lets bring Iron Man into the movie. He is visited by a "long time friend" in shield agent Phil. We will notice at first that Iron Man is very reluctant to participate in the Avengers, having been rejected in the past by Shield. However he is decked out in a new suit and trying to do right by Pepper. When provided with the information to review by Phil, he is almost immediately persuaded to participate although not wanting Pepper to leave his side.

We also get to see Captain America again and we notice first thing that he wants basically wants nothing to do with this world. He is almost still stuck in the past clinging to his memories of his love that he lost when he sacrificed himself in the first movie. He seems only interested in finding the Teseract. He seems to be the only one who understands the power and destruction this magical cube will bring.

Now our main villain in this movie is Loki, Thor's brother. If you remember last time we saw Loki was when he falling into a dark abyss. Most people like myself who thought that Loki would be back but was not convinced he would be in this movie in this manner. I figured Loki to be more mutated than what he was and to be more aggressive. However I do believe Loki was played perfectly for this movie. He really brings Thor back into the human world and makes it personal.

Now lets move onto Thor, the god is back, he gets an update on his love he left behind and his friend Dr. Selvick that Loki abducts. However very disappointingly he doesn't get to see his love. He is really showing how matured he is by a few of his quotes on board the flying base of the Shield.

This is a great action packed movie that really in my opinion brings out the best in each of the Avengers. You get to see compassion, pride, doubt and all other sorts of emotions that otherwise had not been present in each characters respective movies prior. Despite being a very action packed movie it also has its points where it makes us laugh, and depending on your sense of humor maybe others more than some.
